De Havilland Dh88 Comet "Salazar"
______________________________

This is a repaint of the default FS2004 De Havilland Dh88 Comet. After the MacRobertson race G-ASCP was acquired by the Portuguese government and renamed Salazar with the registration CS-AAJ. In Portuguese hands it made a number of mail flights to South America. After this nothing was heard from the plane and it was presumed lost. In the mid eighties however it was rediscovered in Portugal and brought back to the UK. It is presently under restoration to flying condition at Derby Airfield in England.

NB. decals for SALAZAR include 4 national insignia, after checking all the photos I could find and enhancing them, I could see no evidence of any on upper or lower wings, just fuselage.

Installation
____________

Unzip the 'texture.1A' folder to your 'DeHavilland Comet' folder within the aircraft folder of FS9's root folder. This typically resides in your 'Program Files' folder of your C: drive, but may differ depending where you installed FS2004.

Being as you downloaded this from the very fine SimOuthouse, you'll also find me there. Drop a PM or ask a question in the FS2004 forum, I'll do what I can to help.

This repaint was mainly for my own enjoyment, part of a project to cover all schemes of real life Comets, time will tell if I get them all done. Being so, they are not 100% accurate, due to limited research available and (mainly) the texture mapping of the FS2004 model. On the latter point, artistic license has been taken with best judgement. I did my best.

If you are a 'rivet counter', I'm not interested, go paint your own!! If not and have some info or useful feedback, I'm all ears.
